There are many claims out on the Campaign trail right now that the Republican controlled Texas School Board of Education has “whitewashed” the history of slavery or is attempting to erase black history. This article provides the facts to show that that is not true and correct the record for the people of house district 109.
No - The Texas SBOE is Not Requiring Religion in Texas Public Schools
The Texas School Board of Education passed a mandated reading list containing 293 texts, among which are 10 bible passages. Just because 3.4% of the reading list contains these Bible versus does not mean there is religious indoctrination in schools. The democrats have used this in their campaigns, misrepresenting it - but this article sets the record straight - because HD109 deserves the truth.
